Holiday Crafting -- Planning

Untitled

November (I still trip up when I say that, how can it possibly be November??) is an exciting month for me because it brings with it the opening of my new shop! I've wanted to open one for years, and the timing is finally just right. All of my knitting time is going to that right now, and watching that little pile of knits grow is beyond thrilling! The end is in site though, as I will be all set up and open soon (exact date hasn't been set, but it will be mid month, and I will definitely be updating here soon), and I know I will be thrown instantly into all of the holiday crafting there is to be done. This year my sister and I are committing to an entirely homemade holiday season, with as much as is creatively possible coming from our stashes (ahem, ok, mostly mine). Because that didn't sound like challenge enough, (ha) I've decided that I also want to keep things simple, and whenever possible engage the whole family in the making of the gifts. Usually I can be found up into the wee hours of the morning the weeks leading up to Christmas, everything else ignored so that things can get finished. Not this year! I'm hoping that with some careful planning we can take an approach that better suits our family ideals. I'm going to go ahead and share updates here every week in case anyone needs ideas, but also to keep myself motivated! If anyone wants to join in let me know and I can set up a link up, I'm thinking of setting the posts for Fridays?
